Sunflowers in a Window

A while ago my friend commissioned a painting for his girlfriend’s birthday. I was told that she liked sunflowers, so a painting of that flower was all that was requested. I wanted to avoid the cliche composition of sunflowers in a vase, on a table. (Or worse, in a mason jar). That setting is disgustingly overused. I struggled with the composition for a while and then decided to slip the sunflowers into a vase and put them on a window sill.

I apologize for the lack of posts recently. WordPress has crashed and deceased on my computer, so I had to write this article on my phone (the executing of which takes an extreme amount of time and effort, so please like this post).
