When it comes to color, I’m positively dreadful. I just can’t seem to perceive it. Just look at previous paintings, and you’ll find them dull and morbid in color. Our color blind scanner can’t pick up weak colors (as evidenced in the painting below. The sky is really a light shade of blue) and most of my paintings become scanned looking black and white (except for bright shades of red. Those create a selective color effect, which, though aesthetically pleasing, is not the intended effect.) So, today I went crazy with the color. The scanner still failed to pick up some of the shades, but you get the gist of it.
The painting is based off of one of Beatrix Potter’s, but as I had to work on getting color right, I didn’t think originality was important.
