Cambrai- World War I

The Battle of Cambrai was the first large scale battle in which tanks were used.  The American Civil War is considered to be the first modern war, but World War I introduced so many new weapons and concepts, it must have been truly terrifying.

Canadian troops are walking through the rubble.  The Parish of St. Vaast and St. Gery of Cambrai is in the background and still stands today.
